A random happanstance (berry)

"..How exactly did you talk me into this..?" Drak asked walking with Suru and Trance down the street. Drak was holding shopping bags up to his elbows.
"Because we needed some more stuff." Suru said. "We were running low on food."
"And i needed a new dress." Trance said cutely.
"Then why did you buy like 8 dresses and only 2 bags of food.." Drak asked a little irritated.

Luo quickly runs in front of three and holds out his hand. He was a bit beat up since he didn't want to fight the ghoul that was going out of control. He pants softly and shakes his making sure the three stopped walking. "Please stay right here a ghoul is out of control and CCG is taking care of it but we don't want civilians walking through a fight zone.." He blinks and gasps slightly forgetting to show them his ID. He quickly lifts up his skirt a bit and pulls out his CCG ID. "See I'm not lying my name is Luo Tianyi.. The fighting should be over soon don't worry.." He smiles at them warmly and giggles lightly.

Xerna frowns slightly as he jumps back from the alley way and shoots a few arrows off. He looks over and his mouth drops "Luo get them out of here now! They could get hurt Tian is having a hard time keeping it in a corner.. I think it's going to turn into a class E!" He gasps as he gets hit in the side by one of the ghouls tails. He shoots off a few more arrows.

Tian appears next to Xerna in her shinagami form. "Your hurt.." She quickly heals up the small wound for Xerna and blinks as he see looks at Drak, Suru and Trance. "It's against orders for civilians to be hurt in a ghoul fight I'll try to end this quickly since there are people here.." She flies up and a big scythe appears in her hands. She flies down and scream is heard from the alley then silence.

Luo shivers as he hears the scream and he sniffles upset that the ghoul had to be killed. He looks at Xerna and bows "I'm.. I'm sorry I thought if I kept them out of the way it would be ok.. Besides that one is carrying a bunch of bag and I didn't want to make him walk any farther than he had to.

Xerna keeps out his bow and looks at everyone. "It's still not safe the ghouls around here might start an uproar we'll walk you all to your home.."

Tian comes out of the alley way and goes back to he normal form. "The ghoul is dead.. I'm sorry that I couldn't capture it for the research lab.." She looks at everyone and gives an empty smile "I hope none of you were hurt.."

The three were confused when Luo went in front of them and told him to stop. Drak and Suru blushed when Luo pulled up his skirt to show them his ID. They didn't want to try to get into any fights and start undoing their markings, not in broad daylight anyway. They jumped a little when they saw the ghoul tail hit Xerna, they really wanted to help, but they knew that they shouldn't...

"Thanks for.. taking care of that, um, ghoul.." Trance said, she wasn't entirely sure what a ghoul was so she was just going along with it.
"Yeah, thank you." Suru said. "And yeah, none of us were hurt."
"We can walk ourselves back-" Drak said before Trance put her hand over his mouth.
"We appreciate the help, and you can walk us back home if you like." Suru and Trance said.

Xerna nods his head and his bow disappears. He sighs softly, "That fight to far to long.. Where do you three live?"

Luo looks at them and smiles warmly "Don't worry we won't let any ghouls hurt you on the way home.." He looks at Drak and walks up to him. "I can help you carry some of those if you want.."

Tian looks at them and bows. "Tian Dian.. Nice to meet you.." She looks over at Xerna and pushes him down into a bowing position. "This is Xerna.." She lets Xerna stand up straight and falls silent.

The three bowed back. "I'm Suru, nice to meet you." Suru said standing back up, looking at Tian.
"Call me Trance." Trance said giggling standing up.
"And I'm Drak. And yes I wouldn't mind the help.." Drak smiled warmly at Luo.
"You're all really nice people. We live in a house not to far away." Trance smiled cutely

Luo smiles and takes some of the bags. He was glad that he was able to help.

Tian walks up to each of them and hands them a small keychain with a small person on the end. "This will deflect one ghoul attack.. You can keep them.."

Xerna looks at Trance and smiles "Will you lead the way?"

"Thank you." Drak smiled lightly, happy that he had less to carry.
"Thanks for the keychains too." Suru looked at the keychain and then put it in his pocket.
"Yeah, we can show you where we live." Trance smiled cutely and lead the way to a slightly abandoned part of town. It wasn't exactly a slum but it was a main part of town for the hobos to gather. Trance stopped at a 3 story house that looked a little run down, but still looked to be in somewhat better condition than other parts of the area.
"Here we are." Suru said heading inside.
"Why don't you three come in and have a snake?" Drak asked.
"Yeah." Trance smiled. "It's the least we can do for you all being so nice to us."

Luo smiles as he walks with them to their house and looks around the area. His eyes change color as he hears the word snack. "Let's go in.." Even though he really didn't like the taste of human food he had to act like he did. If he was able to get some coffee then it would be good.

Xerna sighs softly and looks at the time. "Alright fine we can stay for a bit.."

Tian bows and smiles slightly "Thank you.."

Trance smiled happily and went inside with Drak. The house was fairly well furnished, everything looked pretty clean, it was actually hard to believe how good the inside looked. It was like the only way to realize what part of town you were in was by looking out a window.
Suru was already making pancakes. "If you guys want anything on them, speak up now. There's also a fresh pot of anyone wants some of that to." Suru pointed to the coffee maker.
Trance walked over to the other side of the room to a tank with what looked like a jet black scorpion on it, she opened a can of beans and put it in the tank, the scorpion almost immediately started eating the beans.
Drak sat on the couch and started reading. It seemed like the only thing electrical other than the lights was the stove and coffee maker, there wasn't even a fridge, freezer, or anything like that, and if there was, it wasn't on the first floor. "Luo, you can leave the bags you helped carried by the door, i'll put them where they need to go later." Drak said looking up from his book at Luo.

Luo smiles at happily and sets the bags down. "Thank you.." He quickly gets the cup of coffee and hums happily. He was fine with plain pancakes since human food didn't taste good to him.

Tian walks over to Trance and looks at the scorpion. "Cool.." She looks over at Xerna for a moment and nods her head.

Xerna sighs softly "Tian would like extra syrup and some butter on hers.. I'm fine with anything.." He sits down next to Drak and looks at his book to see what he was reading.

Suru started plating the pancakes and handed Luo a stack of plain and Tian a stack of butter and syrup topped pancakes. Suru had put sliced bananas, syrup, and chocolate chips on Xerna's and handed that stack to him. "Enjoy you three, eat up." Suru said going back to the kitchen to pour himself a cup of coffee.
"Thanks." Trance smiled cutely. "We found this guy outside out place a few days ago, he's pretty nice." Trance said as the scorpion kept eating the beans.
Drak was reading 'The Art of War by Sun Tzu'. He looked at Xerna. "You interested?" Drak asked curiously.

Tian looks at Trance and smiles slightly. "That's interesting.. You kept it instead of killing it.." She smiles happily taking her pancakes.

Xerna looks at his stack of pancakes and blushes deeply. "Thank you.." He had a big sweet tooth. He looks at Drak and nods his head "Yes.. I enjoy reading.."

Luo smiles and bows as he takes the pancakes. He starts to eat them slowly and took big sips of coffee.

"Yeah. I didn't have the heart to kill him, and Drank and Suru had no worries about keeping him." Trance said looking at Tian.
Drak looked at Xerna seeing him blush. Drak thought it was kind of cute, and he blushed a little too. "That's cool.. I,uh, do some writing too."
"Something wrong Luo? Did I over cook the pancakes or something?" Suru asked curiously. "I only ask cause your taking some mighty big sips coffee after each bite. I'm not gonna get mad if you don't like them." Drak said refilling Luo's cup of coffee.

Xerna looks at him and smiles "Really you do? What do you write about?" He takes a bite out of his pancakes.

Tian looks at her and smiles "Your nice.."

Luo gasps and blushes deeply shaking his head. "No.. NO! The pancakes are perfect I.. I just really enjoy c..coffee..." He looks at the pancakes a bit embarrassed. He had to be more careful.

"Mostly narratives. It may not seem like there's a lot here, but the three of us have done much more than it may seem like on the surface." Drak said. The way he said it made him seem rather sad, even with the light smile on his face.
Trance smiled cutely. "Thank you, you're really nice too."
Suru sighed. "If you're gonna lie, then lie well. Like i said, I'm not gonna get mad." Suru said tapping the book resting on his thigh. He got close to Luo and started whispering into his ear. "With this book i can find out everything about you. This book here is magical. Anyone who's name is told to me is told to the book and every little bit of information on them is put in there. All i got to do is read it to find out about you, and the same applies to Xerna and Tian too. I understand that your group fights these ghoul things, and you better keep those things away from my family, or you might be the one to pay the price." Suru said, he nibbled on Luo's ear lightly to make it look like he was flirting with Luo since Suru saw Trance look over at them.

Luo blushes deeply and gasps slightly as he quickly covers his ear. "Uh.." He looks at the ground and fiddles with his skirt. He felt super nervous now Suru could find out his secret he's been keeping.

Tian smiles at her and holds up a piece of her pancake to Trance. "I read in a book before that you can feed food to others to create friendship.. Or I think that's what it said.."

Xerna looks at Drak for a moment and reaches up taking off one of the jewels on his hair piece. "Here take this.. It'll bring you good luck and stuff like that.." A new jewel appears in the place on his hair piece.

Suru kissed Luo's cheek. "Just keep it in mind. Because I won't have any remorse over it."

Trance blushed cutely and ate the pancake piece. "Thank you Tian, that was really sweet of you." Trance smiled warmly

Drak looked at the hair piece then at Xerna. "Thank you." Drak smiles lightly. "Here, take this.." Drak said picking up a leather bound book. "It's still a work in progress, but that's what i have written of my book so far."

Luo blushes and nods his head. He drinks more of the coffee and stands up when he gets a message. He looks at his phone and bows. "Excuse me for a moment.." He quickly runs outside.

Tian smiles "I'm glad to hear that.."

Xerna takes the book and smiles "Thank you I'll enjoy reading it!" He hums softly and eats more of his pancakes.

Suru chuckled to himself and took a sip of his own coffee.

Trance smiled cutely. "You're a nice person Tian."

Drak smiled warmly. "Thank you, i hope you enjoy reading it." Drak put the hair piece in his hair.

Xerna finishes his pancakes and smiles "It looks cute on you.." He sets the pate down and starts to look through the book a bit.

Tian looks out the window at Luo who was pacing out on the lawn. She looks at Trance and whispers to her slightly. "I don't trust him.. But he is my comrade so I have to trust him I'm confused.."

Luo whines softly as he talks on the phone with a slightly worried look on his face.

Drak blushed lightly. "Thank you Xerna."

Trance blinked. "Shouldn't he be your friend too, if he is your comrade?" Trance whispered back.

Suru watched Luo from inside. He had to admit seeing Luo worried made Suru a little confused.

Luo looks at the window and gasps slightly. He jumps onto the roof quickly and bit nervous. He didn't like it when people seen him worried. He finally ends his call with the ghoul boss.

Tain looks at Trance and tilts her head. "I'm not sure.."

Xerna hums softly as he reads some of the book quickly.

Suru took a sip of his coffee. He  was a little concerned for Luo.He was getting rather tempted to read what information his book would have on Luo.

Trance looked at Tian. "I suppose i understand.."

"Enjoy the book?" Drak asked curiously.

Xerna looks at Drak and smiles at him. "Yes I am.." He leans against him slightly as he read more of the book.

Tian looks at her and tilts her head "You do?"

Luo sighs softly and lays on the roof as he starts writing things down on his phone.

Drak blushed lightly. He had never really had someone this close to him before. "That's good to hear." Drak smiled warmly.

Trance nodded. "Yeah."

Suru finished off his coffee and put his mug in the sink. He figured if he was going to read what his book said, then he would either read it when the guests had left or he would just go upstairs and read it.
